Overcome spring fatigue: Wake up your body and enjoy springtime
Spring brings sunshine, blooming meadows and longer days, but for many it also brings unexpected fatigue. Instead of the fresh air filling you with energy, you feel sleepy, listless and have a hard time keeping up with everyday challenges. Spring fatigue is a real and completely natural reaction of the body to changes in the environment – but the good news is that you can prevent it and wake up in spring full of energy!
What causes spring fatigue?
When winter says goodbye, our body undergoes a real change. Longer exposure to sunlight affects hormonal balance, as levels of melatonin (the sleep hormone) decrease, while serotonin, which is responsible for good mood, increases. But the body needs some time to adapt to the new rhythm, which can lead to a feeling of exhaustion. In addition, diet can also have an impact, as in winter we often eat more heavy foods and fewer fresh nutrients.
4 effective ways to fight spring fatigue
1. Increase your intake of vitamins and minerals
A balanced diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables is essential for more energy and better well-being. B vitamins, vitamin C, iron and magnesium are particularly important in overcoming fatigue. So reach for citrus fruits, berries, spinach and nuts.
2. Exercise in the fresh air
The days are warmer, so take the opportunity to go for walks in nature, run or cycle. Physical activity stimulates blood circulation, improves mood and helps the body adapt to the new season faster. Just 30 minutes of daily activity can do wonders!
3. Enough sleep and quality rest
Although the days are getting longer, don’t forget about sufficient and quality sleep. The body needs time to regenerate, so treat yourself to at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night and ensure a relaxing evening routine – without screens and with a comfortable bed.
4. Stay hydrated
We often don’t realize that one of the main reasons for fatigue is dehydration. In spring, the body needs more fluids, so drink enough water. If water alone is not the most pleasant thing to drink, enrich it with Frutilu instant drink according to your taste. All flavors are sugar-free, and you can prepare the drink warm (you can also add it to tea) or cold, which is ideal for spring days when temperatures are still changing a lot.
Spring fatigue is only a temporary condition that you can overcome with proper nutrition, exercise, hydration and self-care. Don’t let spring drowsiness overcome you – with small changes and the right habits, you can enjoy every moment of awakening nature!
